DEPUTY HEAD OF BA WORLD PERFORMANCE
Permanent, Part Time: £34,304 – £40,927 per annum, pro rata

Duties of the Role
The primary duties of this post will be leading and teaching (practice and theory) on modules on BA World Performance programme and supporting the course leader in the co-ordination of the overall module delivery, administration and assessment of the World Performance Programme.
The post holder will contribute to the strategic development of the course, through their own teaching as well as through leadership and management. As part of these responsibilities, the successful candidate will work to ensure that the course maintains close contact with the professional world and diverse communities and that the curriculum reflects changes in current theory and practice. Depending on the experience of the appointed candidate, there may also be opportunities to teach on other programmes at East 15 Loughton and Southend, including summer schools, where appropriate. As a permanent member of East 15 Acting School the post holder will assist with recruitment and auditions and be an integral member of the teaching and management staff on the Southend Campus
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will be able to evidence substantial, international professional experience practice and/or relevant doctoral level degree in a related field or be close to completion. Relevant experience of theatre/performance work is essential to this appointment. Additionally, they will be able to demonstrate appropriate practice-based teaching/training experience in a theatrical or conservatoire setting.
The school is looking for someone with a Specialism, thorough knowledge of and advanced ability to teach practical classes in various aspects (dance, drama, music etc.) of one or more of the following: performance techniques and practice from Africa; performance techniques and practice from Asia – as well as the ability to teach Western Theatre context and theory. While not essential, experience in managing projects or small teams and the ability to teach Mask-work are desirable skills.
